Slightly different post op film.
The only scar--a small chip.
Bottom view of base. The large nut put up a real fight. I won.
Right side view, pre.
Rear jaw, pre resto. There was a ton of dirt and scale jammed inside the rear box.
Lots of rust--that top screw was a major pain to back out!
That's my size 12 foot. Wanted to give a sense of scale
Don't know if you can see it--the jaws are 8.5 inches wide
And it's also portable!! If I need to go mobile, I load it on my trusty old refrigerator dolly and roll it anywhere it's needed.
Same, no flash. See the shoulders I cut? All done by hand. Took me about a month. My neighbor thought I was nuts! I thought it was worth it.
Side shot, with flash
See, I didn't cheat and run the front jaw all the way out of the rear box.
Yep, that's a true 14 inch opening.
Here she is in anvil mode. I just lay a piece of scrap I-beam on the notches, clamp it down, and presto--I've got a poor man's anvil.
As she is today--much better, I think
What the vise pretty much looked like when I brought it home--not too pretty
